NPP team collects report, goes back

After collecting reports from different NPP legislators of Manipur, the party's office bearers and executive committee members on the question of whether the party should keep on supporting the BJP Government in Manipur or not and strengthening the party in the State, a team of NPP National committee left Imphal for Guwahati today.
The team comprising NPP National general secretary (organisation) James Sangma, NPP National general secretary Abhaya Kashyap, NPP Kerala unit president KT Thomas and NPP Youth Front National president Nickey Nong-khlaw held a meeting with NPP National vice-president Y Joykumar at Hotel Classic Grande on Wednesday.
This was followed by another meeting with five NPP MLAs of the State including Kh Loken (Wangoi AC), I Nalini (Oinam AC), Sheikh Noorul Hassan (Kshetrigao AC), M Rameshwar (Kakching AC) and Jamhenglung Panmei (Tamenglong AC) .
However, MLA Th Shanti (Moirang AC) did not come to the meeting while NPP Manipur president N Kayisii could not make it to the meeting due to health problems, sources said.
The four-member National executive team who came to the State on the advice of NPP National president Conrad Sangma also talked with members of the NPP State executive committee for around two hours.
The meeting deliberated on the protracted Manipur crisis, the resulting political scenario and the wishes of Manipuri people.
With the State's BJP Government completing three years early next year, the meeting minutely studied the police course which the NPP should take in order to ensure better performance of the party in the next Assembly election of Manipur.
The NPP National team met NPP legislators and State executive committee members and listened to their opinions and wishes.
The NPP National team also talked with intellectuals of different communities who are neutral regarding the current crisis at Hotel Classic Grande from 9 am to 12.30 pm today.
The team talked with Dr Dhanabir Laishram, Ashang Kasar, senior journalist Pradip Phanjoubam, Dr Mohen, Advocate Khaidem Mani, retired Session Judge A Noutuneshwari, Dr Arambam Noni and History Associate Professor Heisnam Nilakanta.
The NPP National held another meeting with block level teams of the party at their Naoremthong office from 1 pm to 3 pm and deliberated on strengthening the party in Manipur.
The team took opinions of the block level political workers on whether the NPP should keep on supporting the BJP Government or the party should withdraw its support.
The team left Imphal at around 5 pm.
According to some key leaders of NPP, Conrad Sangma may soon take a decision on whether the party should keep on supporting the BJP Government or it should withdraw its support based on the reports submitted by the team that visited Imphal.
