"We have shown our strength and potentiality all these five days during the event.
I never knew where Mapithel was, but this highest peak happened to be in our midst.
I am proud to be born here and let's all do anything possible to raise the name of Mapithel", he lamented.
According to president, National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO ), Naba Chandra, the organisation as the name suggests, stands for every section of people in the State.
In this modern world where our culture and identity becomes so vulnerable due to one or the other reasons, we need to strife towards preserving and exploring it to the world, Chandra said.
Though about forty identities exist in Manipur we can still create an environment where there can be a peaceful coexistence but this, he said would be possible only when we respect each other's identity and have the feeling of brotherhood as citizens of Manipur, he added.
According to Worngam Siro, the president of ZMKL, the students body was founded in 1995 as a platform to raise certain issues ranging from inter village dialogue to developmental works in the region.
The Mapithel range that covers nine villages has been neglected by the Government in various fields and surprisingly there are few people who are benefiting in the name of the people with their selfish act.
So the students' body is inclined to wipe out all malpractices that exist in various forms with the cooperation and help of every village authority to make this region stand out in this fast changing world, Siro said.
