"Govt formation delayed due to unsolved issues"

Hiyanglam MLA Dr Yumnam Radheshyam has opined that formation of popular government in the state has been kept on hold as the situation is not conducive and as desired by the centre.
He also allayed public apprehension that extension of the President's Rule would mean dissolution of the present Manipur Assembly, stating that there is no discussion on the matter.
Speaking to media persons during inspection of emergency repairing of the breached Manipur river bank at seven locations in between Sekmaijin to Sekmaijin Khunou on Friday, Dr Radheshyam contended that ever since the PR was imposed on February 13, the central government initiated stringent measures resulting in notable decline in unwanted incidents.
Noting that large cache of arms and ammunition have been recovered and central leaders have started holding talks with CSOs of both the communities in conflict, he reiterated that a popular government has not been reinstalled in first six months of the PR due unsolved issues.
With regard the breached embankments due to the recent flash floods, the MLA disclosed of initiating the repair works from his sources as the government is yet to sanction allocation for constructing the retaining walls.
He also announced that as and when the state's financial position improves work for strengthening the remaining damaged embankments will be initiated.
