Imphal, August 19 2016 :
Categorically clarifying that AMSU never indulged in detention or abduction of students, AMSU has decried that some student organisations have been attempting to project them in the wrong light.
Speaking to mediapersons at their office this evening, AMSU vice-president Kangabam Dhanajit said that some students of CC Hr Sec School were injured in the tussle which broke out between police and pro-ILPS protesters when former JCILPS convenor Kh Ratan was arrested in the night of August 17 .
Taking serious note of the injuries suffered by the students, some fellow students of CC Hr Sec School disrupted the school's examination spontaneously on August 18 but they were opposed by another group of students.
The was followed by a scuffle between the two group of students which resulted in injuries.
AMSU was deeply concerned with the disruption of the examination.
In order to bridge the communication gap between the students who disrupted the exam and the other group of students who opposed the disruption, some students were called up but AMSU did not detain or abduct any student.
However, DESAM was attempting to project the incident in the wrong light.
AMSU was only trying to prevent the incident of CC Hr Sec School from being painted with communal hues.
Since 1965, AMSU has been working for the welfare of students without any discrimination between the hills and the valley.
It is a matter of serious concern that DESAM was taking side with a one group when two groups of students confronted against each other, said AMSU.
Dhanajit then appealed to all concerned not to ever try to ignite a crisis out of such incidents.
Students of CC Hr Sec School decided to abort the exam as they have serious grievances against the State Government.
The matter demands immediate attention of the Government, he added.
