NSCN (IM) cadre sent to police custody

Imphal, October 17 2021: The Duty Magistrate Imphal West today remanded an active cadre of NSCN (IM), Bungdon Romeo Anal (55) who was arrested yesterday from Langol Game Village quarter to five days police custody.

Bungdon Romeo Anal, son of late BD Shammi Anal of Thungcheng village, presently staying at Langol Game Village Zone III was arrested by a team of Imphal West Commando yesterday and later handed over to Lamphel police station.

He was produced before the Court of Duty Magistrate Imphal West today with the IO of the case seeking the Court to grant 5 days police custody remand for further investigation.

The IO also submitted the Court that Bungdon Romeo Anal, during interrogation, admitted that he is an active member of NSCN (IM) and was inducted as an overground secret service agent by one late TS Wangdam, the outfit's regional guard commander of Khumi region (Chandel) back in the year 1987.Bungdon Romeo Anal also admitted that he has been providing specific information/data of Indian security personnel movement for safe NSCN (IM) operation, report against mischievous cadres for necessary disciplinary action and others to his commander, the IO submitted.

He also revealed that he has been presently working under one Thumpa Turiim who is a member of steering committee of the outfit presently staying at camp Hebron and has been in close contact with self styled Deputy Kilonsers Belhuwng and Angshel who are staying at camp Hebron through mobile phone, the IO submitted.

Bungdon Romeo Anal further revealed that he had shared video clips of speeches of (L) Athuan Abonmai (who was killed by suspected NSCN-IM cadres on September 22) to Thumpa Turiim's mobile number which might have caused more hatred towards Athuan, the IO added and prayed for five days police remand of Bungdon Romeo Anal.

The Court on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission, remanded Bungdon Romeo Anal to five days police custody.
