National seminar held at DBC Maram

Senapati, February 15 2026:
The Department of Chemistry, Don Bosco College (Autonomous) Maram, Manipur, successfully organized a two-day National Seminar on "21st Century Frontiers in Science: Innovations in Sustainable Chemistry and Interdisciplinary Approaches for a Greener Future" at the college science hall from February 12 to 13, 2026.The seminar aimed to promote collaborative learning across different scientific disciplines and foster a holistic perspective among students.
It also sought to cultivate scientific temper among tribal youth by nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the role of science in societal development.

The Seminar was graced by Dr Zavei Hiese, Scientist and Director of the Nagaland Institute of Science & Technology (NIST), as the chief guest.
In his address, he emphasized the urgent need for sustainable scientific innovations and responsible practices to tackle global environmental challenges.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr Sankaranarayanan Nagarajan, Department of Chemistry, Former HoD and Associate Dean, NIT, Manipur, who spoke on interdisciplinary approaches in modern scientific research.
The seminar was attended by Fr Palatty Devassy SDB, Rector DBC Maram, Fr Dr TC Joseph SDB, Vice Principal and Controller of Examination, Fr Shyjan SDB, and Fr Dr KO Sebastian, Principal, DBC Maram.
Dr Wangkhem Paikhomba Singh, Convener of ISCIAG 2026, delivered the welcome address.
Dr Bindu Thomas, HoD, Department of Chemistry, and Coconvener, delivered the vote of thanks.
The seminar featured technical sessions where faculty members, research scholars, and students presented research papers.
The event concluded with a valedictory session and the distribution of certificates by Principal Dr KO Sebastian.
The organizing committee expressed gratitude to the chief guest, keynote speaker, participants, and attendees for making the seminar a grand success.
