AT hails MHA's position on integrity of Manipur

Imphal, November 13 2025: The Arambai Tenggol has welcomed and hailed the clear and firm position of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that no new Union Territory or Separate Administration will be created under any circumstances.

The Arambai Tenggol has expressed sincere gratitude to the MHA for its deep understanding of Manipur's historical foundations that safeguard Manipur's territorial integrity.

A press release issued by the Arambai Tenggol Ghqs PRO said that the MHA's acknowledgment of the legal and constitutional complications involved in any attempt to bifurcate Manipur reflects their commitment to justice, constitutional propriety and National unity.

The MHA has explicitly informed the Kuki-Zo groups that the Government of India will neither support nor entertain any proposal for the formation of a new Union Territory nor encourage the idea of creating a separate administration by bifurcating Manipur, it said.

The MHA has also reaffirmed that during the tenure of the current Government, there are no plans, no policies and no considerations whatsoever for restructuring Manipur's territorial or administrative framework, the Arambai Tenggol said.

While commending the decisive stand of the MHA which they say reflects a clear understanding of Manipur's history, its delicate socio-cultural fabric and the legal complexities involved in any attempt to divide the State, the Arambai Tenggol asserted that this unwavering commitment of the MHA reinforces the longstanding principle of maintaining the unity, integrity and indivisibility of Manipur.

The Arambai Tenggol has also advocated for the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur to identify and filter refugees and illegal immigrants whose unchecked entry has led to demographic imbalance and social unrest.

"We firmly believe that by addressing this core issue, the age-old harmony, brotherhood and coexistence among the indigenous communities which have flourished together for centuries can be revived and strengthened once again," it said.

Reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the unity and integrity of Manipur, the Arambai Tenggol has also called upon all peace-loving citizens to work collectively towards restoring peace, stability and mutual respect among all communities.
