Painting Competition conducted

Imphal, August 12 2026:
As part of Independence Day celebrations, the State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA) for Watershed Management, Manipur, organized a State-Level Painting Competition for students of Classes VIII to X .
Held on the theme "Water Conservation and Watershed Development under PMKSY WDC 2.0", the competition saw participation of 40 students from schools across the State.

Nongmaithem Korou-nganba of Heritage Convent, Class IX, won the first prize, followed by Brikrama Lourembam of Comprehensive School, Class IX, in second and Kelvin Elangbam of Pitambara English School, Class X, in third.
Ten students received consolation prizes.

Dr Rajkumari Sunita Devi, CEO, SLNA, urged students to become "Water Warriors" .
The prize distribution will be held on August 15, 2026 at SLNA Office, Old Secretariat.
Watershed Committees will also hold cleanliness drives and tree plantations at Amrit Sarovars across 13 districts.
