Imphal, July 12 2024: With regard to the petition filed by two from Cachar concerning the Jiribam violence, the Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has instructed the respondents concerned to submit the required preliminary status report on or before July 27 .

The respondents are Rajiv Singh, IPS, who is holding the post of DGP, Manipur and Kuldiep Singh, Advisor (Security), to the Government of Manipur, Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur, Commissioner (Home), Government of Manipur, DC Jiribam, SP Jiribam as well as the Secretary to the Chief Minister, Manipur.

According to the MHRC order, the matter was listed for order today, however, the SP Jiribam District requested more time for submission of the report.

Hence, the State Commission has directed SP Jiribam to submit the status report relating to all the FIR cases in tabulation form including the present status of the case before the next date (July 27) and the respondents were also directed to file the status report on or before the next date.
