Imphal, July 10 2026:
Employees of the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation Ltd staged a sit-in protest today urging the Government to grant them four demands.
The stit-in was staged days after the MTDC Employees' Association submitted a 5-day ultimatum to the Government, Chief Minister and Chief Secretary.
Notably the employees' association has been demanding the Government to replace the corporation's Chairman with someone who will be available to the staff.
The association has been demanding release of backlog salaries of 13 months, and urging the Government against opening new subsidiary offices.
Further, it said the Government should regularise work charge staff and revoke a recent notification for recruitment of an Additional Chief Engineer and an Account Officer.
