NPP clarifies

The National People's Party (NPP) Manipur State has asked Sheikh Noorul Hassan, MLA, Kshetrigao AC to explain by February 12 why he posed as the State president of the party and categorically stated that NPP has decided to renew support to the BJP Government following N Biren Singh's resignation in an interview with North East Live.
The letter signed by Yumnam Joykumar Singh, NPP president, Manipur State informed that he had checked with Conrad K Sangma, National president, NPP who communicated that no such decision has been taken.
According to the NPP National president, Sheikh Noorul Hassan was instructed not to make any unauthorized political statement except to say that the party is now more concerned about peace and restoration of normalcy in the State and that a decision on the political situation will be taken only after observing further development.
If the Kshetrigao MLA fails to issue an explanation by the stipulated date, NPP will presume that he has nothing to say in his defence, added the letter.
It may be noted that Sheikh Noorul Hassan was appointed as the working president of NPP, Manipur State on February 5 .
