Imphal, September 05 2026: The Manipur State Council, All India Youth Federation (MSC AIYF) has demanded immediate resumption of free blood tests and other tests under the AYUSH Directorate.

In a statement, the Federation said the post of Director, AYUSH was created by bifurcating it from the Directorate of Health Services.

From the first Director Dr Karam Lokendrajit till Dr AK Lokendro, free tests were provided to the public.

However, the service that continued till August 31 was abruptly stopped from September 1, which is unfortunate for the poor people of Manipur, it said.

Noting that PM Modi had announced free tests for the poor, it questioned whether stopping the service defies the Prime Minister's assurance and urged the State Government to resume the service immediately.
