Interaction programme, joint meeting held

As part of the observation of the 191st National Reconsolidation Month, the United Peoples' Front (UPF) Manipur organised an interaction programme at Wangkhem Lampak Laishang today.
The 191st National Reconsolidation Month observation which began on December 22, 2024 will continue till January 9, 2025 .
It is being held in remembrance of the Seven Years Devastation (Chahi Taret Khuntakpa) under the theme "We will never desert our villages again" (Eikhoi Amuk Hanna Khuntaklaroi) .
The interaction programme conducted in collaboration with Ningol Yaipha Thourang Lup, Wangkhem was attended by United Committee Manipur (UCM) president, YK Dhiren; UPF Manipur president, Nongthombam Rupachandra; Wangkhem GP, former Zila Parishad, Wangkhem Leimaton; Ningol Yaipha Thourang Lup president, Kh Pramodini and Maisnam Manglembi of Thouba Ima among others.
At the event, YK Dhiren stressed on the need for the present generation to remember and honour the forefathers who fought bravely to free Manipur from Burmese occupation.
He also appealed to the people to follow the footsteps of the forefathers and fight unitedly for the welfare of the State.
Meanwhile, Kanglei Kollu Sinpham Kanba Lup on Saturday organised a joint meeting for all the people working in the profession of "Kollu" at Malom Tulihal Lai Haraopham, Imphal West.
It was attended by Kanglei Kollu Sinpham Kanba Lup president, Henam Lata; Manipur University, Department of Economics and Department of South East Asia Studies, Head, Prof Chinglen Maisnam and social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram as presidium members.
At the meeting, experts/ dignitaries spoke at length on the need to protect the rights of labourers; preserve and promote the traditional arts & crafts of Manipur.
