Imphal, June 03: Yet another split has afflicted the proscribed KCP with the general secretary of the outfit K Nganba leading some senior officers out of the CHqs of the party on April 21 this year and setting up a safe base camp for themselves.

Detailing the reasons for the fresh split, major Nongthang, who is also the chief project officer of the outfit said that after all the factions of the KCP were reunited with the help of PREPAK, KYKL and UNLF during a general congress held from October 20 to 23 in 2006, a well defined set of rules and regulations as well as a Central Committee was formed.

However after the president of the KCP, Ksh Laba alias Noyon alias Senggoi was released from jail in the first week of March, 2007, he turned all the laid down rules and regulations upside down.

In his bid to take complete control over the affairs of the outfit, Noyon imposed an emergency and robbed the power and authority of the other senior members as well as members of the Central Committee, alleged the statement.

Soon it became a one man show, charged the statement and added no on was allowed to question any action or decision taken by Noyon.

The rank and file of the cadres was also thrown into disarray as those who obeyed his fancy and whims were given out of turn promotion, including even those who had not taken the oath of the outfit, charged Nongthang.

Even the general secretary of the outfit was kept in a house arrest like situation with no body guards provided.

Despite the despotic nature of Noyon, they all tolerated the hardships under the belief that some day order would be restored.

Due to some unavoidable circumstances, the general secretary raised the issue of presenting the financial statement of the outfit and this led to a state of confusion and suspicion among some senior members of the Central Committee, said the statement further.

The final straw was when Noyon, without consulting any members of the Central Committee gifted 15 heavy arms and 3000 number of ammunition to a hill based underground outfit, said Nongthang.

Following this Noyon started viewing the general secretary and some senior members with suspicion and they came to know that some conspiracy were being hatched.

As long as Noyon continues to be with the KCP there will be more splits, predicted the statement and added henceforth they will have nothing with Noyon.

However the other cadres who are still with him, will be treated as brethren for they have sacrificed a lot for the outfit, added Nongthang.

The statement further said that Nongthang has been appointed the project officer of the outfit in charge of finance and financial work has started from May 14 this year.

The outfit also thanked KYKL, PREPAK and UNLF for all their efforts.
