Imphal, May 02 2026:
The Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has demanded strict action against authorities of the DM Community College for "jeopardising" careers of students.
In a statement, the KSA said many students of the college including those from the 2019 batch who had completed vocational courses have not been registered with the National Commission for Allied Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) .
Registration with the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) is mandatory for practising as an allied or healthcare professional in India.
However, students who have completed courses including Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Operation Theatre Technology (OTT), Radiology and Imaging Technology (RIT) have not been registered with the NCAHP due to negligence by the college authorities, alleged the KSA.
While the NCAHP had sent multiple reminders, the former Nodal Officer didn't take up appropriate steps to submit the documents of the students for registration with the commission, claimed the student body.
The current Nodal Officer, after taking charge two months ago, has also not taken up any visible action for registration of the students, alleged the KSA .
The authorities' failure to perform their duties and responsibilities has jeopardised the career of many students of the community college, KSA said.
Strict actions should be taken up against the current and former Nodal Officers, Director and DM College of Science Principal, it added.
