Training programme on "GIS and Remote Sensing" concludes

A 45-day intensive training programme on "Remote Sensing and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)" concluded today at the Cube Ten Technologies Pvt Ltd office, Manipur IT Park, Mantripukhri.
The programme jointly organised by the Manipur Remote Sensing Applications Centre (MARSAC) and CubeTen Technologies Pvt Ltd, aimed to build technical expertise in the field of geospatial technologies and their practical applications.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including RK Dinesh Singh, Principal Secretary, MAHUD, Government of Manipur; O Nodiachand, Director, MARSAC; L Surjit Singh, Scientist C; and Haobam Joyremba, Managing Director, Cube Ten Technologies Pvt Ltd .
Speaking on the occasion, RK Dinesh commended the collaborative initiative between MARSAC and Cube Ten Technologies, describing it as a remarkable effort to strengthen the state's technological capabilities.
He emphasized that GIS have become indispensable tools in today's governance framework, enabling data-driven decision-making across various sectors.
He also noted that GIS technologies have transformed how governments plan and monitor infrastructure, manage urban growth, track natural resources, and respond to environmental challenges.
He further highlighted that the integration of GIS and Remote Sensing can revolutionize urban planning, disaster management, agriculture, and public service delivery by providing accurate, real-time data that helps policymakers make informed and sustainable choices.
Stressing the need for continued capacity building, RK Dinesh encouraged more such training programmes to equip local professionals with geospatial skills that can directly contribute to the development and digital transformation of Manipur.
O Nodiachand highlighted that geospatial technologies play a key role in government projects from planning roads and monitoring forests to disaster management and agriculture mapping.
He commended the participants for their dedication throughout the course and encouraged them to apply their new skills for the benefit of society.
The valedictory session concluded with the distribution of certificates to the 23 trainees, who expressed gratitude to the organisers for providing a platform to gain industryrelevant experience.
