The All Manipur BPCL Petroleum Dealers cum Transporter Association has strongly condemned the killing of truck driver Nitish Kumar and demanded arrest of all Kuki militants involved in the May 29 ambush near TM Kasom in Ukhrul.
In a statement, the association extended condolences to the mourning family members, relatives and friends, and said it will continue to demand justice for the deceased.
"We seriously condemn such spineless attacks by the Kuki militants.
Targeting the innocent driver carrying essential supplies is the worst human rights violation and a terrorist act," said the association.
It urged authorities concerned to apprehend the Kuki militants involved in the terrorist attack, and said positive steps must be taken up immediately to secure NH-202 .
All high-risk zones along the highway including hill tops must be sensitised by conducting area domination exercises before any convoy is dispatched, it said.
