KIM organises blessing ceremony for newly elected Kuki MLAs

Kuki civil society organizations under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Manipur on Thursday organized a Thanksgiving, blessing and dedication ceremony for the 11 Kuki MLAs who were recently elected in the recently concluded 12 th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, 2022 at Kuki Inn, Imphal.
Among the 11 MLAs, Textiles, Commerce & Industry and Cooperation Minister, Nemcha Kipgen (50-Kangpokpi AC); Letpao Haokip (42-Tengnoupal AC); SS Olish (41-Chandel AC); Kimneo Haokip Hangshing (46-Saikul AC); Haokholet Kipgen (51-Saitu AC); Letzamang Haokip (55-Henglep AC) and Ngulsanglun Ngurte (57-Tipaimukh AC) attended the ceremony.
It may be mentioned that the other 4 Kuki MLAs were not able to attend the function owing to unavoidable circumstances.
KIM president Khaimang Chongloi in his keynote address said that as an apex body of the Kukis, KIM considered it important to organize such a ceremony for the elected Kuki MLAs before they start embarking on their respective official work to seek God's blessing for their future endeavor.
He continued that KIM had informed twice to its people to abstain from election-related violence before the election to avoid undesirable incidents rather to embark on a free and fair election while adding that following the apex body's appeal, the election in Kuki dominated areas culminated peacefully despite few issues without any untoward incidents.
"Therefore, KIM conveyed our sincere gratitude to all the Kuki people for the smooth and free, and fair election", he added.
He then said that the elected 11 Kuki MLAs are all fit and well deserved while expressing hope that they will work dedicatedly for the upliftment of Kuki society in particular and the state as a whole.
Rev Dr Satkai Chongloi, Semang of Kuki Inpi invoked blessing prayer for the MLAs during the function.
The Kuki Women Union Manipur presented a traditional shawl to all the elected Kuki MLAs as a mark of gratitude and motivation.
The MLAs also spoke on the occasion on various issues for the upliftment of Kuki society in particular and the state in general.
Various tribes of the Kukis including Aimol, Gangte, Kom, Mizo, Any Kuki, Mate, KIM federating units, various Kuki CSOs also attended the function.
Apart from various Church leaders, prominent Kuki artists also attended the function which ended with a blessing feast.
