Cong sounds death knell of rival BJP

Imphal, March 31 2019: Congress party has claimed that the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the State Government led by Chief Minister N Biren will fade into oblivion after the ensuing Lok Sabha election.

An election meeting of Congress candidate in Inner Manipur PC O Nabakishore was held at Leimapokpam Mamang Leikai within Nambol AC today.

Speaking at the gathering, MPCC vice-president and MLA N Loken categorically stated that the BJP-led Governments at both the Centre and the State would not return to power after the Lok Sabha election.

All the lies, falsehoods and deceptive tactics employed by BJP are now known to all the people.

It was the false promise of bringing back black money stashed in foreign banks and deposit Rs 15 lakh each in the bank accounts of poor citizens which led BJP to a landslide victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Loken said.

Another empty promise which helped BJP to score a thumping victory in the last Lok Sabha election was giving employment to two crore unemployed people, he continued.

He further remarked that BJP has failed to deliver any of these promises.

Lies and falsehoods cannot befool the masses for long and this was demonstrated in the Assembly elections of five States held last year, he asserted.

Turning to the State Government, Loken asked Chief Minister N Biren if his Government has ever taken any new scheme or project and how would they campaign for the Lok Sabha election.

Congress candidate O Nabakishore was an IAS officer and he is a distinguished son of the soil but he was removed from the post of Chief Secretary by the BJP-led Government.

The BJP-led Government whose days are numbered has been accusing Nabakishore of being a criminal, Loken noted.

He then asked the State Government as to why Nabakishore was allowed to take voluntary retirement if he is actually a criminal.

O Nabakishore said that he secured a respectable public position after much struggle but the opportunity to serve the public at the best level was robbed of midway.

"It is my burning desire to serve the masses further which motivated me to contest the Lok Sabha election and I would dedicate the rest of my life in tackling and resolving several public issues", said the Congress candidate.

He went on to claim that he was born and brought up in rural area and he has thorough knowledge of the common issues of rural areas.

MLA Govindas Konthoujam, former MLA N Mangi, senior politician O Joy and Dr S Manaoton too spoke at the election rally.
