Imphal, April 26 2013 : Like in many cases of rape and/or murder as reported and documented in The Sangai Express during the past one week, no charge-sheet has been filed till date in connection with the murder of Geeta (name changed) who was found murdered on May 17 last year.

On being contacted, one officer of Sekmai PS said that they have been awaiting viscera test report from Kolkata.

Once the viscera test report is received, a charge- sheet would be filed in connection with the particular case.

However, the officer refused to divulge the exact date and time when the viscera was sent for laboratory test.

Geeta d/o Ambika of Tispari village, Kanglatongbi was found dead at Leikinthabi on May 17, 2012 .

She left home in the morning of May 16 to get herself admitted in class XII at Presidency College, Motbung.

As she failed to return home till late afternoon, her parents wnet about enquiring about her when a disturbing news about discovery of a female corpse at Leikinthabi was received.

On checking the corpse at the spot, it turned out to be Geeta.

In connection with the murder of Geeta, FIR No 52(20) 2012 was registered at Sekmai PS under IPC Sections 376, 302, 34 .

One accused was pulled up and remanded to judicial custody.

But Sekmai Police refused to give a clear answer when enquired if the accused has been released on bail or not.

When this reporter visited Geeta's family today, no documents related with the murder could be found.

The father simply said that they got Rs two lakhs from the Chief Minister before the shrada ceremony.

It was the JAC who fought for justice in the aftermath of the murder of Geeta.

It was JAC members who went to the police and hospital for post mortem.

"I have no idea what was written in the post mortem report for I cannot read English", said the father.

He was also totally unaware about what police have done/initiated in connection with the murder of Geeta.

He refused to make any comment on being asked if he has any hard feeling against police.

However, when JAC members were contact, it was realised that they were not complete responsibility.

The JAC members and the victim family were simply passing the matter to each other.

Yet, Geeta's younger brother questioned for what wrong her young sister was murdered with such cruelty.

He urged the authority to book and punish the culprit(s) according to law.

Geeta's mother Ambika said, "I could not bear the pang of separation from my daughter but what can I do?" "My heart bleeds all the more when reports about murder of young girls like Geeta are seen in media", she added.

The grief-stricken mother too prayed for exemplary punishment of all murderers and rapists.
