Imphal, October 22 2024:
Chief Minister N Biren who left Imphal on October 16 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Chief Minister of Haryana came back today after meeting many Union Ministers and attending several meetings on the development projects of Manipur and the North East region.
Sources said that N Biren may soon convene a joint meeting of his Ministers and ruling MLAs.
N Biren landed at Imphal airport at 2 pm today but he left the airport hurriedly without speaking a single word to the reporters who were awaiting his arrival at the airport.
MLAs Sapam Kunjekeswor (Patsoi AC) and Kh Ibomcha (Lamlai AC) too came back on the same flight.

Meanwhile, a source informed that the Chief Minister may soon convene a joint meeting with Ministers and MLAs of the ruling parties to discuss some key agendas including the protracted violent crisis.
Some Ministers and MLAs held a meeting with N Biren at the Chief Minister's Secretariat this evening on the current situation of Manipur.
The Chief Minister may preside over another meeting soon and discuss the prevailing law and order situation together with his Ministers and the ruling MLAs.
On the other hand, some BJP Ministers and MLAs have serious grievances against the failure of the State Government and the Central Government to bring any kind of solution to the protracted violent crisis.
With the violence dragging on for the past 17 months without any solution in sight, people's grievances and indignation have been rising day by day.
As a result, many BJP Ministers/MLAs have come under strong pressure from the people of their respective Assembly segments.
Unable to give clear cut answers to the people's repeated queries on how and when the BJP Government would resolve the crisis, the BJP Ministers/MLAs are becoming restless, sources said.
Although BJP launched a membership enrolment campaign recently, BJP Ministers/MLAs are unable to carry on the campaign with any degree of vigour or enthusiasm.
People who have been already enrolled as BJP members have been asking their respective BJP MLAs to first bring a solution to the protracted crisis before launching any fresh enrolment drive.
With the BJP Governments at both the State and Centre unable to bring a solution to the Manipur crisis, BJP Ministers and MLAs and MLAs of other parties which are supporting the BJP Government could not campaign openly and enthusiastically for the BJP candidate or the candidate supported by BJP in the last Lok Sabha elections.
As a result, BJP and its allies lost both the Lok Sabha seats by huge margins.
N Biren's second term as the Chief Minister of Manipur will be completing three years in February next year.
Meanwhile some BJP MLAs have started consulting people of their respective Assembly segments whether it would be wise to stay with BJP or whether they should leave the party.
Keeping in view the next State Assembly election, some BJP MLAs have started thinking seriously of changing their political position in consultation with the people of their respective Assembly constituencies, said the sources.
