Imphal, June 21: The AMUCO, AMSU, UPF, IPSA, AMKIL and NIPCO have begun �social boycott� of all the three MPs and sixty MLAs of the State form today for refusing to resign on the issue of the threat to the territorial integrity of Manipur.

Declaring the three MPs and sixty MLAs as anti-Manipuri and anti-people, the leaders of the six organisations have disagreed with the decision of the sixty MLAs not to resign till July 31 against the desire of the people.

Taking to some reporters this evening, the leaders said that the people have now lost their confidence to these MLAs in protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur and even in executing any welfare scheme honestly for the people.

All the MPs and MLAs have no moral right to live in Manipur as they could not take any definite action for the protection of the territorial integrity of the State.

They are better to leave the State forever as they could not deliver anything good for the people, the leaders said.

The leaders also said that all these MPs and MLAs have been asked to resign within 24 hours, the deadline being 6 pm yesterday, to oppose the extension of the Naga cease-fire boundary to Manipur.

Inspite of the repeated assurances of protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur by both the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister, it cannot be expected that the government of India will act in accordance with the sentiments and desire of the people of Manipur, the leaders further said.

Condemning the killing of 13 persons and injuring many others by the CRPF during the June 18 public uprising in Imphal against the expansion of cease-fire boundary to Manipur, the organisations have decided to stage a peace-rally, sit-in-protest, non-cooperation movement and a series of other activities from the first week of July.

The leaders also warned that the struggle against the expansion of cease-fire boundary to Manipur and Assam would be continued even though they are to face all the forces on the earth to protect the territorial integrity of their state at the cost of their lives.

Stating that all the MPs and MLAs of the state no longer remain representatives of the people, the leaders said that they have decided to use all possible democratic means to force the Centre withdraw its decision to extend the Naga cease-fire to Manipur.

In view of the financial requirement for continuing the struggle and also to provide monetary help to those who were either killed or injured during June 18 incident, the leaders appealed to the people to give their contribution to the AMUCO, AMSU, UPF, IPSA, AMKIL and NIPCO.

The leaders also appealed to all the people in the business community not to hike the prices of commodities taking an undue advantage of the present situation.
