After MLA Thongam Biswajit (Thongju AC) held a meeting with Sharda on February 18 on forming a popular Govt in the State, BJP MLAs Sorokhaibam Rajen (Lamsang AC) and Sapam Keba (Patsoi AC) held another meeting with the State BJP president yesterday on the same agenda.
MLA Leishangthem Susindro held a closed door meeting with A Sharda at the BJP office today at around 1.30 pm.
Yumnam Khemchand (Singjamei AC), Khongbantabam Ibomcha (Lamlai AC), Karam Shyam (Langthabal AC) and Dr Yumnam Radheshyam (Hiyanglam) came together to BJP office at around 2 pm and they too talked with the BJP Manipur Pradesh president on reinstatement of a popular Government in the State.
Sharda held another round of meeting with Th Shyamkumar (Andro AC) and Tongbram Robindro (Thanga AC) later in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, well placed sources informed that many BJP MLAs have drafted a memorandum which asks the BJP Manipur Pradesh president to convey their wish for lifting the suspended animation and reinstatement of a popular Government in Manipur to the BJP Central leaders.
The draft memorandum seeks reinstatement of a popular Government as per the wish of the people.
Some MLAs who are among the signatories of the draft memorandum told The Sangai Express that the two groups of MLAs; one that demanded replacement of former Chief Minister N Biren and the other who wished to retain N Biren as the State's Chief Minister, have ceased to exist.
The MLAs said that the two groups have come together and they have purportedly agreed to support whoever is chosen by the BJP high command from among the BJP legislators as the next Chief Minister of Manipur.
Taking due note of the people's stand against President's Rule, the BJP MLAs have unanimously agreed to work together for reinstatement of a popular Govt in the State, they said.
