Imphal, February 20 2012:
Whereas election officials have completed compiling a report of the photo comparison work done for 523 polling stations against which complaints were received, Congress party too has expressed reservations against going for re-poll.
After preparing a report of the photo comparison work for 523 polling stations, election officials have made necessary arrangements to send the report to the Election Commission of India.
After receiving the report, the ECI would hold a video conference with the State CEO tomorrow.
It would be followed by a consultative meeting between the ECI-appointed special observers and political parties at Imphal on February 22 .
The CEO has already received reports of the photo comparison work for most of the polling stations against which complaints were received.

Meanwhile, Congress candidates in Tamenglong and Tamei ACsKhangthuanang Panmei and Kikonbou Newmai have submitted written appeals to the CEO not to conduct re-poll in their respective Assembly constituencies.
Nevertheless, it is likely that the ECI may announce on February 23 the date and the number of polling stations which would go for re-poll.
The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee is also likely to submit a written intimation to the Central observers to assert their stand against any suggestions for another round of repoll.
The observers are scheduled to arrive here on February 22, said a source.
