A commando team of Bishnupur police struck it rich today as the team led by its SP, K Jayanta busted a camp of the KNF (MC), besides seizing a huge quantity of the arms and ammunition and arresting two alleged activists after a fierce gun fight at S Nabin village in Churachandpur district today.
According to police the commandos led by its SP swung into action on receiving specific inputs of the presence of armed cadres of militant organisations in the general area of Wantherok village under Moirang PS.

The militants were reportedly extorting money from Government employees and the public, said a statement issued by the SP, K Jayanta.
As the police approached Wantherok village, located about 5 kms from Moirang police station, they were fired upon by the militants.
The commandos also retaliated a fierce gun fight ensued after which the militants numbering about 18/20 managed to escape, said the statement.
The gun fight ensued for about 30 minutes, said the police and added that in the follow up search, two activists of the KNF (MC) were arrested.
Police identified the two activists as Lalkhosat alias Sasat Gangte (40) of Bunglong village and Henkholien Haokip (23) of S Nabin village.
In the follow up action, a camp of the outfit was busted said police and added that the arms recovered included one Lethod gun with four bombs, three SBBL/SBML guns, one bag of rice and one bag of potato, two hurricane lamps, two anklets and two water bottles, photographs and documents related to the KNF (MC) and five carry bags.
The police received the information of the presence of the militants at 6 am today, said the statement further.
Shots fired : Unidentified miscreants fired some rounds at the cash counter of Yumnam Oil Service located at Wabagai at around 9.30 pm yesterday.
The firing reportedly caused damage to the cash counter.
Camera snatched : Uni-dentified persons snatched away a digital (Sony) camera while electorates of 16/15 polling station were being photographed at Kanto Junior High School this afternoon.
The polling station falls under Sekmai assembly constituency.
