Imphal, October 16 2025: There will be a popular Government in Manipur after November 15, according to Andro AC MLA Th Shyamkumar.

For good effect the MLA added that there are many after the post of Chief Minister including himself.

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Andro celebrated its 15th foundation day today cum Teachers' Day which also featured a literary meet.

Responding to queries raised by media persons as he came to attend the function, Shyamkumar said that BJP MLAs met many Central leaders at Delhi recently and the Central leaders assured that there will be a popular Government in Manipur after November 15.The Central leaders also assured that the current six month term of the President's Rule will not be extended any further.

"We are confident that the Centre would allow formation of a popular Government after the Bihar elections (after November 15)", Shyamkumar said.

President's Rule was first imposed on February 13 this year for a period of six months before it was extended by another six months on August 13 .

The Central leaders assured that the current term of the President's Rule will not be extended.

As such, a popular Government will be formed definitely after November 15, he said.

If a popular Government is not formed within the current term of the President's Rule, there is no option other than dissolving the State Assembly, he said.

On being asked who the Chief Minister would be if a popular Government is formed or whether the BJP MLAs have elected a leader, Shyamkumar said that the leader should be selected by the Centre.

The Centre would certainly select a leader and the leader will serve as the Chief Minister, he said.

"There are many among the B JP ML As who are after the Chief Minister's seat.

In fact, every MLA wants to be Chief Minister/ Minister including myself', he said.

The Centre may choose a Chief Minister, and restore peace and stability in the State, he added.
