Whether PM will visit State or not will be known soon

Imphal, July 12 2025: Whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur or not will be confirmed within the next couple of days.

Even though there has been no official confirmation about the Prime Minister's visit to the State, the PR administration has been making necessary preparations in case the Prime Minister visits the State.

With the Parliament session slated to commence from July 21, it was speculated that Narendra Modi may visit Manipur before July 21 .

As there has been no official confirmation till date, many people now feel that the Prime Minister may not visit the State.

Whether Narendra Modi will visit the strife-tom State or not will be known in the next couple of days, sources said.

Earlier, it was speculated that the Prime Minister may visit the State and announce free movement on National Highways during his visit to the State or a few days later.

It was also speculated that the Prime Minister may announce a special package for Manipur and inaugurate prefabricated houses for IDPs as well completed projects which have not been inaugurated yet.

Regardless of whether the Prime Minister visits the State or not, the Government of India has been working consistently to renew the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement.

In addition to its efforts to renew SoO agreement, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is working to bring about free movement on National Highways.

In case any of the SoO groups opposes the MHA's efforts to renew SoO agreement, open National Highways and relocate SoO designated camps, the MHA is likely to take up stringent action against the particular groups, said the sources.
