Imphal, January 11: An all party meeting to discuss the ongoing peace talk between the Union government and NSCN(IM) leaders at Delhi was held today at the Chief Minister's official residence with O Ibobi in the chair.

The all political party meeting unanimously resolved that a Monitoring Committee of all political parties with Chief Minister O Ibobi as the Convenor is being prepared to be formed to monitor the Delhi peace talk.

In this regard a special Assembly session would be called if the situation demands.

To save the territorial integrity of Manipur all the political parties of Manipur should fight under one common platform it resolved.

To preserve the boundary of Manipur is the first priority of the parties.

No agreement should be signed which will disturb the territorial integrity of the state.

The talk should maintain the 2000 years old boundary of Manipur.

The meeting appealed to all the sections of the state not to do any untoward agitations regarding the talks.

No one should use any violence they also appealed.

The resolution of the meeting was sent immediately to Delhi.

After the meeting Chief Minister O Ibobi told mediapersons that the government is strictly monitoring the Delhi talk.

If the peace talk challenges the boundary of Manipur he would leave the Chief Minister's chair he said.

Saving the boundary is more important than the chair he said.

The government will never compromise on the issue he added.

The resolution adopted at the meeting said the people of Manipur would unitedly oppose attempt by any authority to disintegrate the state.

The territory of Manipur belongs to Manipuris (different communities living in the state) and cannot be parceled on the basis of the area occupied by the communities residing in it, it said.

It said Manipur with its present territory has been in existence for over 2000 year's as an independent princely state till it merged with the Indian u lion in 1949.Inhabited by different communities such as Meiteis, Tangkhuls, Maos, Kukis, Muslims and others, the State became an integral part of the union after its merger, the resolution, a copy of which was provided to the press.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Chief Minister Ibobi Singh said a monitoring cell having representatives from all parties would be set up soon to monitor the situation arising out of peace talks between the centre and NSCN(I-M).

The Chief Minister said he would himself be the convenor of the cell.

He said he was keeping in touch with the Chief Ministers of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, the two states besides Manipur whose portions were demanded by NSCN(I-M) for formation of 'Greater Nagaland'.

O Joy MLA President of MPP, RK Dorendro MLA, M Bhorot MLA, Dr L Chandramani President of FPM, M Nilachandra MLA, W Kulabidhi Ex MP Kh Mani DPP, N Biren MLA, N Mangi Minister IFCD, Phungzathang Tonsing Power Minister and other political leaders were present in the meeting.
