Imphal, November 10 2025: With BJP General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh and North East in-charge Dr Sambit Patra set to arrive here on November 12 on a three-day visit, BJP MLAs of the State have geared up to raise the matter of forming a popular Government in the State with the two Central leaders.

BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra will land at Imphal International Airport at 11.45 am on November 12 .

The two BJP leaders will stay in Manipur till November 14 morning and they will meet BJP MLAs of both the hills and the valley, BJP office bearers and prominent personalities, sources said.

They will also hold a meeting with BJP office bearers and district presidents on the same day.

Later, the two BJP National leaders will meet prominent intellectuals of the State.

During their meeting with BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra, BJP MLAs are most likely to raise the matter of forming a popular Government in the State.

BJP MLAs have already started conferring with each other to pursue the matter of forming a popular Government unitedly, said the sources.

Meanwhile, some BJP MLAs told The Sangai Express that a popular Government may be reinstalled within the current month.

BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra will travel to Churachandpur and Senapati on November 13 .

They will hold meetings with BJP's Kuki MLAs, party's office bearers and intellectuals at Churachandpur.

The two BJP leaders will meet prominent Naga leaders including village chiefs at Senapati, said the sources.

Apart from deliberating on formation of a popular Government, they will also discuss strengthening BJP in Manipur.

BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra will leave Imphal for New Delhi at 9.50 am on November 14 .

Meanwhile, BJP Manipur Pradesh office bearers held a meeting at their Nityaipat Chuthek office at 11 am today on the scheduled visit of BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh and North East in-charge Dr Sambit Patra.

The meeting presided over by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda went on till 11.30 am, said the sources.

Earlier in October this year, most of the BJP MLAs including ex-Chief Minister N Biren and Speaker Th Satyabrata went to Delhi to exert pressure on BJP Central leaders to let them form a popular Government in the State.

The MLAs came back after BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra reportedly assured them that a popular Government will be formed in Manipur soon.

Although they met neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Union Home Minister Amit Shah, they met BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra Notably, President's Rule was imposed in Manipur from February 13, 2025 while the Manipur Legislative Assembly was kept under suspended animation following the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren on February 9, 2025 Incidentally, a few days back, BJP MLA Lourembam Rameshwor stated that they will elect Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata as their leader and stake claim to the Governor to form a popular Government in case BJP Central leaders do not initiate necessary steps for the formation of a popular Government within the current month.
