CCpur JAC calls 15 hour shutdown on Mar 18

CCpur, March 09 2016:
The JAC against 'anti-tribal' Bills has lined up different forms of stir to mark the 200th day of unrelenting struggle for justice and continued fight for tribal land, rights and identity on March 18 .
According to a statement issued by the JAC, a 15-hour total shutdown of Churachandpur and its vicinity, the epicentre of the ongoing tribal movement, will be observed on March 18 .
No vehicles will ply on the road from midnight of March 17 till 3 pm of March 18 as a mark of respect and to mourn the nine 'tribal martyrs' .
Gun salute will also be offered to the 'tribal martyrs,' the JAC said.
All tribal licensed gun owners will fire their guns in the air (using gun powder) from their respective homes at 9 am of March 18 .

Besides paying homage to the 'tribal martyrs,' a mass prayer for tribal movement will be held from 5 pm at Lamka Public ground, the statement said.
With the Union Government and State Government still refusing to acknowledge their anguish and claims for what is rightfully theirs as enshrined in the Constitution of India, the JAC against 'anti-tribal' Bills has intended to continue its struggle until such a favourable solution is achieved.
The JAC urged all concerned to cooperate in the programme marking the 200th day of continued mourning and struggle.
The JAC will shortly announce details of the plan for March 18, according to the statement.
