Led by Senior Advisor (State Planning, North East) Jayenti Chandra, a team of Planning Commission of India ar rived at Imphal today on a four-day official visit to the State.
In accordance with the purpose of their visit, the team went to Nilakuthi and inspected the Food Park being developed there.
They also visited* the Software Technology of India at Mantripukhri this after-noon.
The team then inspected the*Capitol Project being constructed at Chingmei-rong where PWD officials informed Jayenti Chandra that the Assembly Secretariat and '".
High Court complex being constructed as parts of Capitol Complex will be completed by January 2010.Interacting with the State officials'there, the Senior Advisor stated that their visit was basically to assess Planning Commission members led by Senior Advisor Jayenti Chandra interact with State officials development projects, being taken up in the State and to consult with State officials on these projects.
Interestingly, contradictory to the assurance of PWD officials that the Capitol Project will be completed to a functional level by 2010, construction work of the Civil Secretarial building which constitutes a basic component of the Project is yet to begin.
Later the team visited Uttra Shanglen, Govindajee temple and museum inside Kangla.

Fom Kangla, the team went to New Checkon and inspected the tribal market located there.
They also inspected the infrastructure of TG Higher Secondary School.
However, the team virtu ally skipped the multi storeyed Ima Keithel being constructed at Khwairam band market.
They just had a glance of the Keithel without even stopping their vehicles from BT Flyover.
The Planning Commission team visiting the State also includes State Planning, North East (SPNE) Director Sarvan Kumar, Di rector Finance Resources S Lakshamanan, Consultant Krishna Dev, Senior Re search Officer Dr Prem Singh and Director Village and Small Scale Industries OP Semar.
The team was accompa nied by Principal Secretary to the State Government DS Poonia and other relevant State officials during their inspection tour today.
