To Have Great Dreams
Chongtham Ronikumar *
To have great dreams, one must aspire,
Beyond the reach of hollow desire.
The moon bears no hair, no crown of flame,
For empty-headed writers bring it shame.
They scribble voids with thoughtless ink,
No roots to ground,no time to think .
They do not serve the world they write,
Nor honour nature's silent might.
Let none betray the earth's pure tone,
With verses dead as polished stone.
A poet must be more than pen -
Half dreamer, half doer among men.
Only then, with clear vision,
Reality and truth draw near.
In every field where work must start ,
Let poetry rise with an honest heart.
