The Tricky Boy
Chongtham Ronikumar *
There was once a boy, quite tricky and sly,
Who played with his books as the days passed by .
His exam was tomorrow - oh dear , what a fright!
But his knowledge was tiny , not nearly quite right.
He scratched his head and started to plan ,
Not the usual tricks of a lazy young man.
"I'll talk to my sisters , so clever and wise-
They 'II help me prepare and sharpen my eyes!"
So off he went , with a humble heart ,
Ready to give his best and start.
He listened well , and read with care ,
With patience and effort floating in air.
The next day came with a rising sun ,
He sat for the test - nervous but fun !
The questions were kind, like a dream come true ,
He wrote what he knew , that too he knew !
The results were out , and guess what he found ?
His name was right there - first place all around !
His parents beamed with joyful pride ,
His sisters cheered , right by his side.
Now bold and smart , no more delay,
The tricky boy had found his way.
