The Flavours of Life
Sorokhaibam Manimatum *
The taste of different mouths, tastes the different things;
The feel of bitter, sour, and delicious also differs from one to another.
But to bang in there and truly taste the delicious -
One must know the mendacity within oneself.
Just as a crawling child longs to walk,
Life, too, should be vehemently opposed -
Its pauses, its shifts, its unpredictability.
To feel the taste of different things,
And as life serves us flavors anew,
We begin to understand the meaning of it more and deeply.
