Written by Niladhaja Khuman and directed by S. Ratankumar Singh, the play presented by the Langmeidong Dramatic Union weaves a tender yet stirring tale of love’s triumph over prejudice.

At its heart lies the story of Thoisana, a Meitei youth, and Sinarembi, the daughter of a tribal chief.

Their love blossoms across the divide of hill and valley, yet faces the heavy weight of tradition and pride.

Sinarembi’s father, though reluctant, surrenders to the truth of his daughter’s breaking heart and blesses the union.

But within Thoisana’s own home, his mother Leimarembi hardens her heart, unable to accept a daughter-in-law from a different tribe.

Her harshness drives Sinarembi away, clutching her little son, while Thoisana, grieved by the cruelty he had not known,sinks into despair.

It is his suffering that awakens Leimarembi to the cost of her pride. Stripped of bitterness, she journeys to bring her daughter-in-law home, choosing love over prejudice, and unity over division.
