House in the Moonlight
Pradeep Hawaibam *
Under a quiet silver moon,
The house stands still in borrowed light,
Wooden doors closed in gentle rest,
Holding stories of the day tight.
A single bulb hums softly on,
Casting warmth on painted walls,
While shadows stretch across the floor
And answer midnights silent calls.
Steps descend into the dark,
Where dreams and darkness intertwine,
And somewhere in the quiet air
The night feels sacred, still, divine.
No voices rise, no hurried feet,
Just moonlight pouring from above
A simple home beneath the sky,
Wrapped in peace, and wrapped
Here we were nourished to get the strength
To grow and to lead families.
Yes, this is the heart within my heart.
