Bleeding Mother
Sorokhaibam Priya *
With every lie, they stab her
like a pointed knife.
Every pain she carried
left her bleeding.
No tears remain to fall.
Her clown children leave her dry,
snatching her peace, as if
she never deserved to be called
mother.
How long will she endure
with the resilience that keeps her standing ?
Now she bleeds through pain.
She bleeds through separation.
One day, her children will wake up.
Until then,
they leave her bleeding...
