Another Langban has come
Sorokhaibam Priya *
Oh, brother,
Oh, sister,
did you resend us
For leaving your body
In the cold, dark earth ?
Hundreds of mothers
Still grieve your loss;
Some are still waiting
For those who are missing.
Thousands still ask,
When will we go back home?
Every time I see those sisters
Selling door to door
Just to survive,
I know the shame they swallow,
Yet hunger makes them walk.
And when those innocent children ask,
Where is our home?
How does a father answer ?
Oh, mothers,
My mothers,
Another Langban has come.
How will we face
Those brothers
Who became spirits of sacrifice?
How long must we beg
For peace for you, mothers ?
Lend me your voice, Mother,
Let our cries reach the sky.
Let our cries wake your sleeping children.
Until then, Mother,
Please hold your tears.
