What are our Problems ????

At the dawn of this new opportunity for the people to decide on the leadership for the people of Manipur for the next five years through the democratic process , I feel it is the right time for the so called the intellectuals, opinion leaders and leaders of our society to sit back and think about the actual problems of the land and the people regardless of community, caste or origin.

Leaders are not born but made and what we need at the moment is not just one leader but many leaders in our society who together in union and single mindedly can stitch the fragmented pieces of the Manipuri Society(Tribal and Meitei) over petty issues of hunger for power and selfish policies of divide and rule.

After having spent the last thirty years outside the State except for brief visits for meeting parents and relatives and some project formulation once in a while I have been away from my own community and people for these many years.

I am ashamed to state that because of this distance I had, due to professional compulsion I have been disconnected from my people and the their problems. But let me asssure you that that is not going to be same any more.

Whatever may be the personnel hardship or danger I am going to dedicate the major part of the rest of my life in doing what I can do to make the future of the children of manipur better and secured.

As many know me and my past I can share that I come from a struggling family in Kakching, Manipur where we have always tried to better our lives and others surrounding us through sere hard work, dedication and commitment.

Our family has gone through various ups and downs in life. I try to bring in the family perspective as I believe that everything start from the family.

How you solve your own personal and family problems will reflect on our how capable are we going to be in solving the problems of our society.

I dont boast of me and my family being free of all problems but I can assure you that I have overcome most of it and I have taken a lot from the society and now the time to give has come.

In order to try and bring solution to any problems I have faced and I do face in life I have always followed the concept of SWOT(Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat ) analysis of the situation we are in.

Similiarly now while trying find out a possible solution to the problems of Manipur I would like to first understand exactly where we are.

I mean our Manipuri Society. What are the problems that we are facing? What are the causes of those problems?

I would like to dedicate this section only in trying to understand our problems and their causes. Once we are sure of the actual problem then I believe we will be able to prescribe the best treatment for the same.

I believe that there is a solution for every problem and similarly I believe there is surely a solution for the problems that our society is facing.

I would like to invite suggestion and request you to kindly add in points in finding a win win solution for one and all in our society.

Please let me know via email what you think are the problems that our society is facing at the moment. As they say nothing is impossible if one tries. its just a matter of whether one tries hard enough or not.

So let me assure you that there will be light at the end of the tunnel and we will try and find a solution to the problems of Manipur so that we can make it a better place for the future generations to come.

This is the first article on this issue but let me assure you, this is not going to be the last.

I am going to hit at it till I find that I have found the adequate solution to the problem of our people and our land..MANIPUR.
