It’s all about learning

Exams are at door step now. Young minds are coping with exam fever for they have taken board exams across the CBSE, State boards, ICSE and ISC. No doubt any examination would give you jitters. Life is in fact all about learning.

Albert Einstein says “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving”.

The other day I was watching a movie “Rough Book”. It’s all about learner learning differently. Those students are no wombs of brightest young mind but aimless unfocused and spoilt. But they are taught and inspired by a tutor who was sacked from her school.

Well besides teaching, a school teach discipline and personality development too. Many foreign institutions have no fix curriculum and examination. Japanese toddlers don’t take any exams until they reach grade four. Are scoring marks more important than learning?

However our corporate institution is no different either. It is our work which gives us new face and adds meaning to the life. There are challenges from fulfilling a career to make customers happy. Fortunately every experience ends up learning us something. And our faculties are giving us a great learning experience as they have professed their teaching.

The training imparted a great deal of knowledge to their employees. I fondly remember one of our most beloved instructor AGM BK Das who is still teaching after retirement at various training program. The best part is that they are truly professional and the methodology of teaching infrastructure is intended with cutting-edge technology.

So far, the thrust is given for customers’ service. Now the trend has been changed. The customers are no longer ignorant but knowledgeable nowadays due to advent of technology. Bankers have to learn all products for customers.

The training has been designed perfectly to meet up its need. Their unique abilities could help us imparting knowledge with information that help us our skill level to see deep insight the subject. The course material has got visionary view to think over it.

A guru can able to awaken wisdom, leading us from darkness to light. And our SBLC has got it all about active learning.

We used to have a sigh of relief while deputed for training. The saying goes - escape from the worrisome days from customers.

Also we have fun during training as there is no examination but a bit quiz, play and group activities besides there are good food and accommodation too. Those were the times of listening while dozing. Many would go for a good nap after heavy lunch. And there is tea break that rescued us from hearing class lecture continuously.

Recently the course module includes interactive learning that conducted differently. We were provided with a pdf material to prepare for an examination at the end of the program for which we have to qualify and the pass percentage was a bit high fifty percent. That caused to raise our eyebrows.

The days of gossiping are over but absolute learning for three days. All trainees put their full effort to overcome examinophobia. The final two hours were heart stopping clicking moment of the pendulum. The most fearing was the digital timing that flashed in the monitor and the worst thing was that there was no helpline.

I tried to keep my cool during clicking answer one after another. While I looked towards my co-trainees, I found their questions were different than to me that kept me further worry. Soon I reached the last five questions of a composition, I realised the euphoria of overcoming examination.

I saw the final submit button lighting flashed overhead. By closing my eyes with a prayer I finally hit the button at the screen.

The result came with a bang. You are qualified. The jubilation came very shortly after the final announcement declared on the screen of digital classroom. My name was on the top of the list. I soon realised why marks are preferred over learning.

Faculties deserved praise for their selfless teaching for making us a friendly learning environment. Any trainees would surely feel convenience at ease, however in doing so, no one should lose heart in the process of trying, but I always feel great going to State Bank Learning Centre, Guwahati.
