The music lovers of North East India are delighted to get the news of ROOTS Festival 2008.

"Music is the common language of the soul. In today's conflict ridden world and in the context of the region only music can cement ties, forge bonds" - with this vision in mind, Springboard Surprises announced ROOTS Festival '08.

This year their tour is happening between the 3rd & 25th of May 2008. They are kicking off the festival tour from Imphal on the 3rd May then they will make their way through Kohima, Diphu, Itanagar, Guwahati, Aizawl and finally Shillong.

ABOUT ROOTS FESTIVAL

ROOTS Festival began in the year 2003. This festival is an initiative of Springboard Surprises founded by Keith Wallang & Anungla Longkumer of Shillong, Meghalaya, India.

The festival, initially held only in Shillong, began as a simple collaborative concert & over the years it developed into an event featuring local, regional and international artists.

In 2006 they were inspired to take the Festival on the road so as to reach out to a larger audience and this developed into the "ROOTS Festival Tour", a one of a kind Touring Festival covering the states of Assam, Arunachal, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram & Nagaland in the North East of India & featuring music & dance from the region and around the world.
