It was raining heavily when i rang up home. This time mom was shouting instead of the usaul whisper. The patter of the rain on the window pane was visibly audible.She was screaming and i was screaming too.

This time the topic was Marriage. I happen to be the most illegible bachelor for the family now.

I being very outward and straight, asked her to serach for a bride who is outgoing and sociable, who is working and would be ready to marry me the untraditional way, i.e. through court marriage!!

Mom bounced back with the usual reply.. " Ibungo yaare!"

It's not that I dont like the traditional way of marriage. It's once in a life time thing and beautiful too.

In wildest dreams, could a girl think of going for a court marriage. But, come on.. time is changing.

Instead of spending lot of dough and mullah arranging for the celebration in a big way, the couple can invest the same in other worthy things.

Though, my thoughts are wierd....but still, I somehow feel that there would be someone somewhere who shares the same thought as mine, to be on the positive side.

Anyways, mom is head over heels searching for a bride, while I am here doing my bit.

Then came the topic of my younger sister's marriage. Marriage has always been conditional.

Condition now-a-days is that the girl should be working. Gone are the days when people search for girls, who are homemakers and who spends her lifetime within the 4 corners of the house.

Becuase of the prevailing unemployment problem back home, getting a job is like searching diamond in a mine.

So, I suggested mom to come out of Manipur so that my sister can easily get a job here. So, the main condition of marriage is fulfilled. Mom agreed to my suggestion.

Now, the question is when are they coming...which is usaully a big question mark???

Well, these thought are entwined with reality and we know reality bites.

I presumed there are lot of bachelor trodding on this earth who yearns to marry a bride from their hometown and vice versa.

I wish there is a channel wherein all wannabe couples can interact in reality... so that the burden to their parents in seraching for a bride or a groom lessens.
