ABOUT THE COMPETITION:

The “Sangai Photo Award’17” is an All India open photography contest organized by Manipur Photography Club, Imphal in nassociation with Manipur Tourism, Government of Manipur. This award is planned to be an ongoing award and put up in the calendar of yearly Manipur Sangai festival events. The objective is to promote and showcase the huge tourism potential of the unexplored Manipur India through photography.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. Contestant must be a citizen of India and above 15 years of age.
2. The Office bearer of the Manipur Tourism & Manipur Photography club are not eligible for the contest.

CONTEST THEMES:

All Photos must be of Manipur only with the following themes
1. Landscapes
2. Lifestyle
3. Arts & Culture
4. Street Photography (Street Photography as such encompasses scenes of people in public spaces and need not have the element of a street or Urban environment)

IMPORTANT DATES:

- Contest opens : 1st November 2017 (Wednesday)
- Last Date of entry : 20th November 2017 (Monday)
- Announcement of Result : During Manipur Sangai Festival 2017 (21-27 November 2017)
- Prize distribution: 30th November (MSF 17 Closing Ceremony)

CONTEST ENTRY FEES:

1. Entry fees will be free
2. A contestant can submit a max of 4 entries (one per each theme mentioned above). If he/she wants to submit 4 entries, one for each theme, he/she has to pay an entry fee of Rs. 400/- totally.
3. The fees are non refundable.

PRIZES: (For each separate theme)

- 1st Prize – Rs. 15000 + Trip to Madhya Pradesh, Certificate of Merit
- 2nd Prize – Rs. 10000, Certificate of Merit
- 3rd Prize – Rs. 7000, Certificate of Merit
- 7 Consolation Prizes – Rs. 1500 each, Certificate of Merit

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

1. Contestants can submit entries for all the themes but only one entry for each theme will be accepted.

2. Only online entries in .jpeg format will be accepted. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this contest.

3. Submission of entry :

# Photographs must be uploaded on the website www.sangaiphotoawards.com with proper captions and personal details as specified in the entry form in the website.

4. Photo entries should be minimum of 3 MB and a maximum of 10 MB in size. Keep a high resolution unedited RAW image copy (CR2, NEF, jpeg) handy as MPC would ask for it in case the entry make it to the winners list.

5. Photos submitted for entry to the contest must not have won any award in earlier held Photography Contests.

5. Images with frames or borders are not allowed. Images with Copyright signatures or statements or watermarks will also be considered disqualified for the competition.

6. Images for the competition can be B/W or Color. Any contents in the Photographs must not have been added or removed apart from minor changes like cropping, color corrections (Exposure, Contrasts, Brightness, Saturation) and cloning of dust spots, water droplets etc. Unnatural High Dynamic Range (HDR) images generated through automated softwares and stitched panoramas are NOT acceptable. Any change to the original photographs not itemized here is unacceptable and will render the Photograph ineligible for Prize.

7. By submitting the photograph contestant agrees that such photos may be displayed on any part of our website and may be used for the promotion of Dept. of Tourism, Manipur and Manipur Photography Club’s future programmes without any liability to pay to the owner. The Copyright of the Photo will always remain with the owner.

8. The Photograph in its entirely must be a single work of original material taken by the Contest entrant. By entering the contest the entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant and the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity. The entrant also agrees that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph submitted. (The Photographer must submit a declaration to this effect if asked for).

9. Photographs will be judged by our In-house Judge panel and the decision of the selection panel will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

10. Images will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit.

11. Manipur Photography Club reserves the right to modify, change, add or make amendments to any or all guidelines or rules of competition, without prior notification. Participants who do not comply with the rules and regulations mentioned above will not be allowed to take further part in the contest.

*By entering the competition, contestants are deemed to have agreed to the terms and conditions of the competition.
