Seeking Patterns
Depiya Thoudam *
Once again, I got lost, as usual,
A soul bound to an old mind,
One that has seen the world,
Through many seasons and storms
Yet, still so naïve in wisdom.
I knew all along, for sure
Chaos of this world knows no bound,
Still, this restless mind never quits,
Seeking patterns in the chaos,
Tracing the lines of unseen order,
Searching for the threads that weave meaning,
Hunting for designs in randomness.
Often I get swallowed by the maze,
And not every moment bore a pattern,
Yet I seek them in the chaos around me.
When the patterns evade me,
There in my mind, I craft my own,
For it is the only way I know,
Still I got lost, as usual.
