The Deadliest Mind
Dr Ranbir Laishram *
In the present day, conflict reigns,
A deadly mind, a recurring theme,
Everywhere, everyday,
It's consuming our essence,
Day and night.
In tranquil homes, communities, and nations wide,
Conflict brews, a devastating tide,
The underprivileged cry out, lament, and sigh,
Unrest pervades daily life, unbearable to the sky.
Should we blame our mind, the source of all?
Good and bad deeds, it masters thought and call,
The source of worldly conflicts, yes, it's true,
What type of mind?
What we feed, our actions pursue.
Irrational minds, seemingly normal and bright,
Cause and effect, a rational sight,
In the modern era, a shrinking world we see,
Through smartphones, equality, yet inequality
At its core, humanity is equal
Same wishes, same desires,
But not enough to satisfy, a burning fire,
They fight against each other,
For power, wealth, and fame,
Insatiable hunger, a never-ending game.
Self-interest oriented actions, a driving force,
Culminating into turmoil, a world's remorse,
Not animosity among groups, but a rational being's plight,
Desire for instant life, enjoyment, and power's might.
A crorepatti's dream, usurped power's sway,
Insatiable desire, a heart's deadliest way,
Gratuitous hatred, lust for power's might,
A familiar picture, a heartless sight.
Who ultimately wields control?
The one with evil's grasp,
In this realm, one either possesses power
Or is trampled to death.
