Realm of Power
Dr Ranbir Laishram *
In a tiny dot of the globe we stand,
A multitude of specks, each with its land.
Miniature kingdoms, ruled with might,
By sovereigns who govern, day and night.
Their mighty hands hold power's reins,
The rule of law, their realm sustains,
Justice is expected, yet they reign,
And all bow down, with homage to obtain.
But, who are these monarchs of might?
Humans like us, with power's light,
In a democratic realm, we reside,
Where medieval meets modern, side by side.
Will change come, or will we stay?
If life goes on, in the same way,
We'll remain where we are, lost in time,
Unless we navigate life's stream, and redefine.
