Ode to Peace
Dr Ranbir Laishram *
In twilight's hush, where shadows dance and play,
I search for you, dear Peace, and pray.
A fleeting dream, a whispered promise sweet,
A gentle breeze that stirs the soul to meet.
In days of old, your warmth illuminated my way,
A golden light that soothed the heart's dark day.
But now, in this tumultuous world, you're hard to find,
A rare and precious gem, hidden deep, leaving me to unwind.
Time was, when life's simple rhythms echoed your gentle voice,
A symphony of peace, that soothed the soul's wild choice.
But now, in this cacophonous age, your whisper's barely heard,
A distant echo, a fading light, a longing that's often blurred.
Yet still, I yearn for you, dear
Peace, a constant heartbeat true,
A guiding star, that navigates me, through life's turbulent sea anew.
In solitude, I seek you, in stillness, I listen for your gentle tone,
A whispered promise, a heartfelt choice, a love that's forever known.
And though you may be distant, dear
Peace, your memory stays near,
A bittersweet reminder, of love, of joy, of laughter, and of tears.
For in your presence, my heart finds rest, my soul finds peace,
A sense of belonging, to something greater, a world where love and peace release.
