From Ashes to Hope
Dr Ranbir Laishram *
From harrowing tales to annihilation's might,
I clung to hope, a glimmer of light.
With inner strength, I ventured out
Leaving my sweet home to survive.
And to take refuge at relief camp.
The life of internally displaced...
The ruthless ethnic conflict raged, a broad daylight nightmare,
A bygone story, written in blood, and bitter tear.
Hope against hope, I dreamed of life before,
Enduring unexpected turn of life's adversity, and autocrats' betrayal.
But now, the turbulent storm within me subsides,
The furious tempest wanes, and peaceful tides.
A gentle breeze of hope whispers in my ear,
A wake-up call is heard, and a new dawn draws near.
The awakening of the Saviours has just begun.
With it, a permanent solution to the crisis unfolds,
A chance to rebuild, to heal, and mend the wounds of old.
Will I return to my home, my paddy fields so green?
Will our homeland's integrity be preserved, its honor serene?
Our gratitude goes to the masses, CSOs, Meira Paibis, and VVF too...
For their untiring efforts, and commitment help us navigate the darkness.
