My Gracious, Nurturing Mother
Laishram Momo Khuman *
My gracious, nurturing mother,
You are the god I see,
Guiding me through life's vast sea,
Lifting me and holding my hands.
Beloved mother, a steadfast shade,
In your protection, I find my place.
Now grown, I grasp the world's embrace,
Yet yearn to repay your tender grace.
Your nurturing, a priceless gift,
A beacon in my darkest drift.
Your devotion, a star in the night,
A life so pure, gods envy its light.
Blessed am I, your cherished child,
In this precious life, meek and mild.
No fortune greater could I claim,
Than being loved by your gentle flame.
If there’s a next life, let it be so,
I would wish to be born where you go,
To bask again in your caring glow,
And honor you through eternity's flow.
My gracious, nurturing mother,
Your love, my guiding star,
In this life and the next afar,
I treasure you, my eternal par.
