Ballad of Letting Go
Ningthelnganbi Nongmaithem *
In the quietude of midnight's glow,
I ponder up on the one I let go;
Their laughter lingers, soft and low,
In memories of long ago;
We shared a path—
A fleeting dance, a story penned by happenstance;
But time, it weaves a tangled thread,
And parts the way we thought would trade
Their touch, a ghost upon my skin,
A whisper of what might have been
In dreams, their face, I sometimes see,
A shadow of what once was "we"
Yet seasons turn, and winds will change,
And hearts, though broken, rearrange
In letting go, I've come to know,
Love's seeds, in time, will always grow.
